Abstract

Posterior interosseous nerve (PIN) syndrome is a rare compressive neuropathy of the forearm involving the deep radial nerve. Etiological origins of spontaneous PIN palsy are diverse and include entrapment neuropathy,space-occupying lesions, inflammatory change, neuralgic amyotrophy, mononeuritis and fascicular constriction. We present a case of non traumatic spontaneous PIN syndrome with sonographic imaging, magneticresonance (MR) imaging findings and electrodiagnostic correlations. This is the first to comprehensively report on the sonographic and MR imaging findings of a spontaneous case of PIN syndrome.
